A Marrakech il monumento principale è una piazza.

Un luogo che appartiene a tutti, teatro di racconti, storie, suoni che si tramandano da millenni, forse non più nello stesso modo e, ormai, anche per gli stranieri che vogliono ascoltare.Ma che forse non riusciranno facilmente a capire fino in fondo.

La piazza che era delle esecuzioni pubbliche, ora è halqa (teatro di strada) per vivi.

Per il Marocco e per il mondo, questa piazza è stata dichiarata dall'Unesco "capolavoro del Patrimonio orale e immateriale dell'Umanità".

Intangibile ma presente da sempre.

The main monument in Marrakech is a square.

A place belonging to everyone, theatre for tales, stories, sounds that have been shared for centuries, maybe not in the same way anymore and now, also for foreigners that want to hear.But it will be harder for them to understand completely.


The place that used to be the public executions square, is now the halqa (street theatre) for the living human beings.


For Morocco and for the rest of the world, this square has been labeled  by UNESCO "Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity".


Intangible but always there.
