Come appariamo da fuori?Lo sguardo dell’altro ha sempre da insegnare, ci fa riascoltare suoni e sentire sapori dimenticati, notare quanto siamo abituati a gesti che per altri possono risultare assurdi, sottolinea sfumature per noi, forse, ormai invisibili.
Cecile mi è apparsa come un bello specchio in cui guardarsi.E’ arrivata in ufficio con un’aria quasi naif, occhi molto curiosi, aperti sul nostro paese in cui ha deciso di immergersi per un po’, il suo italiano zoppicante e molto divertente e un coraggio non comune: perché proprio l’Italia??...che tra l’altro è la domanda che tutti i giovani italiani desiderosi di emigrare le porgono, con aria incredula!
E’ interessante starle vicino nella vita di tutti i giorni: restituisce il giusto peso alle cose che non vediamo più bene.
Il paese che ti ospita ti dà linfa nuova, forse sei più acuto a cogliere le sue sfumature e sottigliezze, proprio perché nel tuo paese esse non sono tali.
Approda a Roma quasi per caso: dopo la decisione di partire con il progetto Leonardo e l’assenza di disponibilità nei posti da lei scelti, le viene proposta Padova e terminata l’esperienza torna, per migliorare il suo italiano e per trovare lavoro in un posto in cui lei è sicuramente avvantaggiata, visto che parla fluentemente 4 lingue!
Mi piace molto quando ti spiega quanto sia sconcertata di fronte all’individualismo che sente qui.Pensa che la realtà italiana sia del tutto particolare, un caso a parte: ognuno prende per sé tutto quello che riesce a prendere, sempre di più, perché tutti fanno così e non puoi essere l’unico che si comporta diversamente.
Il concetto di omologazione è molto forte, proprio per la paura di esprimere originalmente la propria individualità.
Allo stesso modo la realtà può essere manipolata in mille modi e ognuno creare la propria.
How do we appear from the outside?The look of the foreigner has always a lot to learn, makes us hear sounds unlistened or forgotten, note how used we are to things that may be absurd for others, and underline invisibile shades.
Cecile suddently appeared to me as a beautiful mirror in wich analyse ourselves as Italians.She gets in the office looking a bit naif, very curious eyes, wide opened on this country where she decided to live.Her uncertain and funny italian and a huge courage: why the hell did you choose Italy??That’s the question everybody asks her…girls and boys wanting to leave this place and this blondie from England comes in!
Its interesting to see her point of view and get to know her story:she arrives in Italy with Leonardo Project, to Padova and after 3 months there she decide to come back to improve her italian and maybe find a job in a place where she’s surely favoured, as she fluently speaks 4 languages!
Its almost scary to hear how precise she is when talking about Italy!The individualism she sees here is much different from anywhere else: everybody here takes as much as they can for themselves because that’s the way everybody behave and you cannot be the only one doing something different!
Probate is very strong, because of the fear of expressing each one’s individualità in an original way.
Also the idea of a distorted and manipulated reality is strong: everyone can create his own and there’s no more an objective truth.
